We're delighted, she was very brave there, stuck her head out and battled on well. She's by Wootton Bassett, who we like. By all accounts they like a little bit of cut in the ground and it was beautiful out there. She's come on immensely from her first run, which ours do, and she'll improve again. The ultimate is always getting black-type. She improved from her first run and if she does that again we are on the right road anyway.

It's great to win for the guys involved in him (Galaxy Horse Racing Syndicate). They backed me by giving me a horse and they are a good bunch to train for, they just let you at it, and they are very professionally run. The horse has had his issues in the past but in fairness when I got him he was in good nick and he's been very straight-forward. He had a very good run in the Rockingham, and he was possibly unlucky in it. We thought coming here he'd have a good chance but 10st 2lb was a big weight to carry. He's in here next week but we'll enjoy this and then we'll see whether he runs next week. He'll have to run in something half decent again.

He probably did it too well but I'm delighted with him. I thought he'd win last week (finished sixth at Roscommon) but it was a helter skelter of a race, he got his throat cut and that was the end of it. He likes a bit of dig in the ground. Hopefully he can go in again but what will the handicapper do now!. He was rated 80 at one time. He was well thought of early on in Lynam's. He's come a long way down since then. I schooled him over hurdles and thought he was as good a jumper as I've ever seen but I brought him away to school with another horse and he knocked down every hurdle. He's in a good space at the moment though so might try him again as he goes on soft ground.

Declan said he was quite keen today, that a horse just sat on his backside the whole way and he was nearly too keen early. He said he got into a rhythm and he just kept filling him up. He said he picked up nicely and he's galloped the whole way to the line today. He had to work today but it was a very competitive race and it was good money (50k to the winner). That's only the sixth race of his life and he's a big horse so hopefully he'll keep improving. I not sure where Joseph will go with him but hopefully he'll end up getting black-type somewhere. He's won a nice pot so it's good for the owners.
