Hurricane blows away the favourite
Mullins family in bloom with Primrose
It was not ideal to make the running but they were going slow and he got a soft lead. The jumping won it for him really. He was hanging right the whole way but jumping straight, and he'd be better going the other way. I think he could make a superb chaser.
Lingo follows up on Galway Plate success
He went quite fast and I thought he ran a bit free. As a result he got a bit tired at the end. It was nice to use his rating over hurdles and get a win (rated 119 over hurdles). I'm not sure what the plan is now to be honest this was the plan. It's possible I might give him a proper break now if he shows the signs of needing it. We've had him in a long time.
House Rules in beginners chase
I felt he deserved one. He had a great run behind Dazzling Susie at Clonmel, and last time well he just seems to hate Galway. Davy gave him a super ride, and it's great that Alan and Ann are both here.
Ballyadam lands a touch
He fractured a joint two years ago and has been lame on and off ever since. The last six weeks he stayed sound and we have been able to get a run of work together. He ran a cracker at Cork and while I wouldn't run one again so quick normally, once he was sound I decided to go for it. I didn't think it would be too tough a race but it turned out to be a really good beginners chase and he did it well. If he stays sound I'd say we will head to Listowel with him. His owner has been very patient with him and he has had a lot of bad luck.
Kalellshan routs the field in the Killarney feature
His jumping was so good. He has so much scope I was trying not to set him alight. I'm very happy with that and while I'm not sure now where he will go, two to two and a half miles is his best trip. It's great for his connections after he was off for nearly two years.
Double for team Mullins as Reine takes the last
It was probably my fault she was beaten at Roscommon. I kept on the worst of the ground there. She will get a trip over hurdles as she keeps galloping. She needs to learn how to settle but when she does she'll be a right mare over 2m 4f to 2m 6f. My biggest problem was to avoid Derek O'Connor at the start (his mount Hawaii Five Nil acted up at the start and soon unseated O'Connor after they were sent off).
