Odds-on Chutzpah gains second win of the week
I'm really happy with that. We took a bit of a punt bringing him back, but he is going to get a fair hike after Wednesday and he seemed in great form. He got 16lb for Wednesday which was probably fair. I'm delighted for his owners, we've already had a lot of fun with him. We will give him a little break now, I'm not used to running them that quick. . He's got loads of options and could go back on the Flat. We'll back off him for a couple of weeks as he's been busy. I'm delighted for Ethan as well, he gave him a great ride.
Rampere West strikes for Fahey & Doyle
He was fourth in a bumper at Leopardstown on debutand then he was third on first start over hurdles at Roscommon,. He had a couple of average efforts after that. I was just a bit worried today as he was the only four-year-old in the race. He got the allowance for that but he did surprise me. I didn't think he would be as forward going and ready for that, taking on older horses.
World Of Fortunes outstays rivals on hurdling debut
She was a little bit sticky jumping and it was a good thing it was three-miles today, as it gave her the time to warm into it. A couple of things went wrong but I'd say her ability got her through. She'll have to sharpen up and get slicker jumping, but in fairness she hadn't run in nearly 290 days. All she'll do is improve and we're delighted with her. . She had a couple of little niggly injuries and her owner has been very patient. He gave her all the time in the world. She'll keep hurdling now and we'll look for a race in three or four weeks. We've nothing mapped out, we said we'd get today out of the way first and see how it went.
Gorgeous performance by Tom in Wexford feature
Duty Bound lands Wexford handicap on chase debut
He is very well-bred,. He had a few problems when we got him but thankfully we've ironed them out. He always worked fairly well and I said I'd give him a run in a handicap chase today to protect his (hurdles) mark. Then they took all those fences out and it worked in his favour. I said to Conor that if he was going well over the last down the back to set sail for home because he won around Sandown and he is tough and hardy. He stuck at it well. . The Queen actually bred him and I got him out of Andrew Balding's at Newmarket last year. . I'm delighted for his owners. I own a share in him along with Des O'Brien, John Bermingham and Johnny O'Neill. . Today was the plan and we might go back hurdling with him now, we'll see what happens.
Stormy Master takes the last for Hackett & Quinlan
He is an older horse now and has his own way of doing things. We just said we'd keep going with him and that he'd fall into one someday and today was the day for him. He won around here last year and he has a bit of ability. Some days he might be on a going day and today he was. I've five winners left now before I lose the (3lb) claim.
