We kept it simple enough. He's a big horse and probably the last day inexperience caught him out as he's a classy Flat horse. That left him spot on. John knows him by now, he said he probably should have given him a kick in the belly the last day. As he's such a big horse he doesn't go from first gear to top gear, it just takes him a minute to get going. He's a good horse now. He's a big baby.

Flood delights in Shortall winner

He got a beautiful ride. He (Shortall) really gave him every chance to settle and relax and that has been a bit of a problem with him. The last day here he just ran with the choke out too much and he fell into a hole. He's a grand little horse.

Treacy back after torrid time with injury

He got his ground and everything went to plan. It was a competitive 20-runner race. It was a long way up, four and a half hours. We weren't coming for the fresh air! He'll go for something similar.

Most of his form is on better ground. They have called it good to soft in places when he has won but it has always been the first race of the day. He's always better when he has a bit of a better surface. I have to say Ger didn't panic when he wasn't travelling down the back and the boys have made a move. He held onto him and he nursed him away and he got a lovely run down the inner.

He thought he was in Hickstead when he ran in his point-to-point - he gave everything three feet. He just jumped himself out of it. He was a real baby last year. He ran a beautiful race and improved a stone since the last day in Punchestown.
