Going - Good To Firm (Good In Places on Flat track). Raining
Table takes Down Royal opener
She is ground dependent. She has to have it quick. She'd run well here previously on that ground. It was the same when she won on the flat at Ballinrobe. She'll go to Kilbeggan now for a mares hurdle. That place should suit her. She'll be kept going over the summer and Robbie said she jumped well.
Afram Blue causes a surprise
Who would have thought that he'd get a run?. We got a call at 2.30 to say that he was in. I didn't expect a win from him and I actually fancied the other one, Kyoto Summit, who finished 12th. He loved the ground and the distance here. He ran quite well over a mile and six at Wexford and that brought him on.
Blue Dahlia beats better fancied rivals
Condon has an 87/1 Down Royal double
She's been second the last twice and she'd been showing good form. You could say it was a matter of time before she won but she was stepping-up in trip there and there were some fancied horses in the race. She got the seven furlongs well and Shane knows her well. She's improving and she's entered at Tipperary next week. Hopefully she'll improve enough to get some black-type.
Double for Meade as Still Point delivers
John Oxx had him last year and he was very backwards then, I was lucky to get him. He is a nice big horse and that's his trip.
Desert Ben scores for the Caseys
He was drawn wide so I dropped in and came through horses. He was drawn the same at Dundalk so I was confident enough today. I think he'll stay further. He could go to the Curragh next.
Clondaw does it like he should
I bought him off Colin Bowe. I'm delighted for Paul (McMahon) who puts a lot of money into the game and this is my first horse for him. He was beaten by a better horse at Tipperary the last day. He is only a 4yo so he will have a break now and might come back for a winners bumper at Galway. He was placed in his two point-to-points, he jumps well and I'm looking forward to going hurdling with him.
