He was pulling himself up, he was getting lonely in front. He did the same here last year as well. He loves soft ground. My horses aren't quite right at the moment and I'm just happy to get a win over the Christmas.

He has always been a nice horse but he had taken ages to learn his game. As a young horse we thought he was very good and we always thought he was better on good ground, but when we sent him point-to-point we learned that he is better on soft, and he started to settle for the first time. It helped change him a lot and it made a man of him. It is great to get a win at Limerick over Christmas.

I was in front a little longer than I'd have liked but a loose horse helped give him company. He's a good horse though and loves that winter ground. That's my 19th winner and I've one more to lose my 7lbs claim; I ride out mainly for Charlie (Swan) and Denis Hogan and basically here there and everywhere!

She has been very hard to train, she has had problems with her joints, but her owner Jim O'Leary (owns with his wife Elizabeth, and they also have Annie Other) has been very patient. Jim is my farrier and he put 'go faster shoes' on her today. We hadn't really thought beyond today but she might go for a winners bumper now.
