Pulsating makes it 2 from 2 for O'Dwyer and Madden
Leonard hoping to keep it "a little bit exciting" for leader Crosse
Harriet's Force a special winner for Clarke
From day one I knew she was a good filly but she's just been so green and I've never done so much work with a two-year-old than I had to with this one just to educate her,. Robbie worked her one morning and said 'this is special, the best two-year-old I've ever sat on' and that says a lot. She's well named. I lost my father earlier in the year and she's named after him. The other half-owner Sean Fitzsimons's wife Elaine, her father was Harry as well and he died last year. So it's a special moment. We've had a dry spell for a long time and it's our first winner out of the new yard. She's just pure class and she's probably a Listed horse in time or even a bit special, and a bit better, when she knows her job. We've held her in high regard and she's still learning her job. I think the mile is exactly what she needed especially with the pedigree she has. I have two of the half siblings at home, and they want further, Tenth Amendment is one of them. She's by far the best and I'm delighted to get the job done tonight. I'd like to put her away now and if I still have her for next year, I've always felt and one other person said to me, that a Guineas could be an aim for her. She's a fair tool and we've a good marker in the yard to aim at.
Crosse kicking on at the top of apprentice table
He was very unlucky as the race probably wasn't run to suit him the first night here and in Gowran it was probably a good race,. Tonight I was a little bit worried about the trip so I just trained him a little bit more for speed than stamina since Gowran and it's worked out fine. The kid gave him some ride. I'd like to step him up to a mile-and-a-quarter. That would probably be his optimum trip and in time he might get a mile-and-a-half. We'll keep going with him during the winter and we'll see what the handicapper does with him now.
Surrounding scores a big win for the Newells
She loves it around here and comes into her own at this time of year,. It was a good performance, everything went well, they went a nice even gallop. Shane knows her well, she's very game and picked up and galloped out strong. That's brilliant and it's terrific for the Newells who are great supporters of ours. They keep them in training and good and bad days they take them the same. They're wonderful people and they thoroughly deserve it. We'll keep going with her and see where we go from here. We'll enjoy tonight anyway.
Lynam happy with Orr's efforts on Clare Island
Oisin was good on her. It's always nice to win for Kilboy, they've been good supporters and they've been with me since Duff which is a long time,. He rode a good patient race on her. She likes it here and we'll come back in about a month or so and find another one for her. She can be a bit keen and she's her own worst enemy. You've got to ride her for luck, sometimes you get it and sometimes you don't.
Leonard keeps pressure on Crosse with 441/1 double
She's been a bit unlucky all summer. Normally she would have been left off by now but she hadn't won and we knew there was a race in her so we said we'd chance her up here, so we're delighted - it's a long trip,. She'll probably come back up in a few weeks. She's very versatile as regards trip and ground and everything. She's a fun horse.
