Elliott's yard sponsor on the mark at Downpatrick
it's great for Valerie and Noel (Moran), they sponsor the yard and have a good few horses with us so its nice for them to get a nice winner. he deserves to win, he has been knocking on the door a while. His jumping can be a bit hot and cold but he is a horse we might mix and match with the flat. He stays well on the flat and he could be well enough handicapped on the flat.

Manomine bags third win this month
we knew he liked it around here and it is horses for courses especially around here - I think this owner (Jimmy Matthews) would nearly buy a house in Downpatrick!. It was quite a big surprise (that he jumped well). This is why it has taken us so long to come hurdling because his jumping has been awful. His maiden hurdle and all he was absolutely appalling. He was different class today and he seems to be enjoying himself. Whatever Kate Kelly did in that Punchestown charity race, we have to thank her!. Maybe in a better quality race he could settle in. He just has a big long stride and he just seems to be enjoying himself (out in front).

Canadian shows his Steel in Downpatrick
He was just a bit unlucky the last day. He came here today and he had a run under his belt and we fancied him. He was in good enough form. I think the small field suits him better than a big field. There's only one way to ride him, he has to be held up. You ride him as if he is going to be placed not to win because he is too keen. There's no point in taking on 16 or 18 runners. There was too front-runners and they cut each others throats. He doesn't travel great, I had him England a couple of times and he sweats up nervously. Even travelling to Tramore he got off the box and started to sweat and shake. He's a nervous type of horse. I don't think the handicapper is going to be sore on a horse of that age.
'Fat purse required' to purchase Downpatrick hunter chase winner
he stayed on well and finished it off well. Deccy (Lavery) said he gave him a wee breather at the top of the hill and he would come again. His Cork run was a brilliant run and then he went to Fermanagh (Necarne) and it was bottomless and he just didn't handle it. That was just nice ground tonight. He's for sale if someone comes with a fat purse!
