Rocky Dreams prevails under King
Movie King stars in stamina test
Great to get him off the mark. He is what he is and it is grand he got one. He stays and he battled away well. It is a long summer and he'll go for staying handicaps on the turf and he may go over hurdles.
Rosscarbery off the mark for Twomey
She is a nice filly who had shown very good form last year for John Murphy. We've had her since last year and she is just running to the level she ran to before and I'm very happy with her. I haven't thought past today (regarding the trip), it is nice that she is a well-bred filly and a winner now.
The Mpex Kid bounces back to form at 50/1
We gave him a great break. A great friend of mine, Timmy Moore, had looked after him over the winter for me and did a super job. He came back fresh and well. We know he likes this surface, he had a cracking run last year (late 2020) on it. Gavin was really good on him. The horse enjoys a bit of space and a bit of room. Gavin is a class rider, I think an awful lot of him and I hope he is going to ride plenty of ours this year. He was very good on him. There's a race in Gowran for him in a fortnight's time. The plan was to have him ready for the turf after this evening. It was nice the way it worked out.
Facile win for odds-on Ballydoyle colt
He could end up in one of those staying races at Ascot. Any of those staying races he will be targeted at. He ran in good maidens last year and he has progressed nicely over the winter.
Persian Wolf strikes for Lynam & Coen
He toughed it out. He had been second up here before and wasn't beaten far. Ben (Coen) said the last day he thought there was a day in him. It is nice that Trevor (Dalzell, owner) was here as he is a good supporter of ours. He seemed to travel much better in the race in the (first-time) cheekpieces. I've only seen it once but he went for a gap and there wasn't enough room and he had to pull out. We'll try him on the turf - there's a race for him next Friday here so we'll see how he is, it might be a bit soon.
