Cusack and Corby go to war and win
He had a nice run here the last day and I'd say he came on from it, it just sharpened him a bit,. You have to credit the handicapper because he dropped him, it's a long time since he won. Sean (Corby) have him a lovely ride, he got a lovely position and was in a nice position throughout. He was able to go forward and it worked out well. We'll see what the handicapper does and there is a race back here in February, provided he comes out of it alright. It's great for the lads and fair play to them as they've stuck by him. He's had niggly problems and had a fractured splint bone.
Carvelas gets some compo a fortnight on
He ran a great race the last day. Turning in last time I thought he was going to get beaten by half the track but he just stayed going and going,. We ran him over a mile-and-a-half before so we said we'd step him up again and kept him fresh. He's a very genuine horse and loves it. That's probably one of his best runs. Things are going well at home. We put in a new five-furlong woodchip gallop about 18 months ago and they are all running well off it.
Adieux credits in-form Martin with another winner
We always thought this was a good mare but things just went wrong with her. The owner is a vet and he did every test he could find and she just wasn't right, whatever the story was. The horses are in good form at the minute and she's thriving. The last day Colin (Keane) suggested putting a hood on her to help her relax a bit more and I'd say it certainly helped. The quick pace helped as well, they flew and came back to her a bit. She got there maybe earlier than ideal but it was good to see her battle like that. The last day she didn't really have to battle hard but she did today. I'm delighted for the owner (Seamus Foran, her breeder as well) as he's very good to me and is my vet.
Prove The Point wins her first race on the polytrack
It was her first time dropping back into that class and the handicapper gave her a chance.. She seemed to be in good form and she runs well fresh. She won last year first time out as well. There are no plans really and he was thinking about breeding with her. The way the races are here you have to nearly take them when they are there because they might not be there the next time. She's an honest little filly and wins a race or two every year. That's her third win and she's been placed an awful lot of times. I know we've run her plenty but she doesn't do an awful lot in between.
71/1 double for Pat Martin at Dundalk
He can get free when he's on the outside and tonight we were delighted to be drawn on the inside,. further . If he switches off in the first two or three furlongs he's a different horse. Killian said he settled and halfway through the race he started to get on to it. He did it well tonight. Ray (Moore, owner) is a great supporter and he'll party tonight, he's well able to do that!. He's been a smashing servant this fella. He tries everything and rarely doesn't turn up. He always wants to race hard and if he's drawn wide he uses himself. You can whinge about draws but they can be crucial and we were delighted to see the low draw. He's very consistent and I thought we had a great chance of turning it around with the favourite as he went up a good bit. It's great that it happened.

Thorne's Shamrock venture well advertised by Master
We bought him in Goffs at the horses in training sale and I just thought that he has loads of ability and we might be able to sweeten him up with our way. I knew he was well handicapped and we've done very little with him. We brought him here last Tuesday for his first piece of work and he worked very well behind Togoville. We said we'd give him a run tonight and see what happens. Robbie gave him a peach of a ride. I think he needs to be held up and come with one run. A fast pace suits. I don't know whether we'll go again here or wait for the first day of the season on the grass, the six furlong race that we've won a few times with Bubbly Bellini. We could come back here though if there is a good pot here. We'll see what the handicapper does to him. I think we'll have a lot of fun with him. Stephen Thorne has set up a new syndicate and we only finished selling the shares last Saturday. They've got a quick return on it. Stephen set up Shamrock Thoroughbreds and Rosenborg Rider is in it as well. He's done a good job. He's an ex Flying Start student and he's my assistant.
