Pear springs surprise in Kilbeggan opener
I'm delighted for Graham (Belfast based solicitor) and David Keys - it's great for them. Graham has had a terrible time personally recently with losing his wife and it's nice for him to get a boost. She's a well-bred filly and had been working well at home. I told them beforehand I thought she was a ridiculous price.
Comfortable win for Sizing Sahara
Hogan & Blushes foil the gamble
He's been waiting all year for a little bit of ground and that was just about good enough.
Some nice bets landed as Maccas scores
Young Ryan Treacy is one of the best seven pound claimers in the country. He did well there after losing his stirrup at the second last.
One, two for Hughes as Datokepe shocks
That wasn't the plan but it's no harm having a winner!. He's only ran once over fences at Punchestown and fell so we didn't see enough then to judge how he jumps. He's schooled well at home and looks like he'll make a nice three-mile chaser. He broke down and was off for a year-and-a-half. It was his first run back at Punchestown.
152/1 double for Hughes & Enright
He's progressing well and is a smashing little horse. He did it well off 118 today. It was very heavy in Navan and Punchestown. He's only small and did well to get through it like he did. He appreciated the bit better ground there today and he can keep going now.
