Going - Good, Yielding in places. Fine
Better ground helps Zerashan score
at last! - that's the first time he has got good ground since I have him and he was entitled to win on his Flat form. He likes to be 'up there' in his races and jumps and stays well. Even if he gets a bit of a hike for winning this, he still looks well handicapped . he ran today from a mark of 106. If the ground dries up, he may go to Killarney and a handicap hurdle at Galway is also a possibility.
Blunder almost costs Causes
Cuthbert off the mark with Goddess
that's my first winner . I've had 14 or 15 runners but have my license three years. Martin (Ferris) said how much of a tough cookie Pink Goddess is and we'll aim her at a race at Galway next.
Wally completes double for Carberry
Wall Street Wally is very much a good ground horse and Paul (Carberry) said he struggled a bit on the soft patches today. I'm glad Paul kicked on when he did and he'll go for a handicap hurdle now . the handicapper shouldn't be too hard on him after winning today's race.
Heaney justifies favouritism
Barry (Geraghty) rode Heaney the last day he ran and told me to drop him out next time out. I told Paul (Townend) to take his time today and he said that he even arrived there too soon. He was pushed a bit wide coming down the hill and was forced to go with the flow and produce his challenge when he did. Heaney will be sent chasing sooner rather than later and while the track was not ideal, he loved the ground.
