Going - Standard. Overcast
Peculier strikes again at Dundalk
Blinkers have worked for him - that's twice after running him in blinkers. We always thought a bit of him and the blinkers have worked on him. Jack gave him a brilliant ride. He's in again on Tuesday over a mile and we'll see. We are tempted, but he'll tell us. We'll see how he is over the next couple of days. He's improving with his racing and is putting it all together. I'd say he will make a nice hurdler over the summer as well too. He might get a bit of a break after Dundalk and come back over hurdles. He definitely wants a bit of good ground. He's nice to have and I wouldn't mind a few more of them!
Knight out of luck but happy to be back
Solo proves tough for Leonard
Resolute in the finish. We were just waiting for him to land one. He's a very good horse, a very genuine horse. He was going to win one eventually, he always runs his race. He might be a little bit better on the turf with a tiny bit of a dig in the ground, but we're very happy to be able to pick up one with him. They are great owners and are delighted. We had a nice bit of fun with them throughout the year - he was second in Galway and ran a few nice races. A nice, consistent horse and a great, fun horse to have. We'll see whether we give him a break or whether we will run him once more up here, but we'll aim for the turf again with him.
Western swoops late to make winning debut
O'Brien doubles up with Dawn
A nice performance. She had a lovely prep run up here the first day over six furlongs and it sharpened her up plenty for today. She really tries really hard, as you can see her head is on the floor there trying so hard. Hopefully, she can strengthen up and go on to better things. She's not the biggest but what she lacks in size she gains in heart, and she skips across that surface. First winner for Joseph - I ride the odd little bit of work for Joseph and when you get a leg up on one it is great. Shane (Crosse, brother) retired and I got on one or two!
Rutledge earns plaudits for Cousin Shay's victory
Plan A went out the window, nothing wanted to go on. He's a keen horse so she grabbed the bull by the horns and sent him forward. He switched off to a certain degree anyway. He was good and tough up the straight and she was very good and strong on him. They are a good team. Nice the two horses ran well (Zahee), we thought they would run well. He did (keep finding), he was tough. He is a tough, hardy horse and there might be more to come from him, hopefully. He is still a lightly-raced horse for his age so it was good to get off the mark here. He is not a horse you want to run week in week out, he's quite a heavy-topped horse and I think he feels it so we'll see.
