Oh My another winner for Joseph
She is a nice mare. Initially the plan was to start off in a bumper but this race looked suitable for her. Jody said she jumped a little bit novicey in places but you'd imagine she'll stay further and it's good to get a winner. Her owner James (Coleman) is local as well. Her dam won over fences, so she'll jump a fence in time. I've had a great start. On Monday the races just suited the horses and it just happened like that, you couldn't have organised for something like that to happen. It was just a great start and we'll try and keep it going now.
Ballinaboola gives rivals a wide berth
Danny said she panicked on the inside in Tramore. He said she didn't like being tightening up, and that he wanted to do that today, and I said do whatever you like. It worked anyway, and I think we will run her again next Wednesday at Wexford. It's great for her owner Seamus Tobin. He is a great supporter of the yard and is a great friend of mine for many, many years. He had a nice winner last year (Balinaboola Prince) and then he got killed on way to the start at Punchestown. It's great for him to have one again.
Course specialist Catch Me wins again
He is after improving half a stone since the last day here. I thought the ground was a little softer today and that it might catch him out but he handled it lovely.
Fiddlers on the mark over fences
I'm delighted and he got a super ride. He probably just ran to his mark and that was good enough. The bit of better ground seems to have helped him a bit as well. He stays well and I'm delighted for his owner Declan Ganley. He might go back for a handicap, I don't think the handicapper will put him up for that. He might go for a novice either, and he could go to Galway or Killarney. We will enjoy today anyway and see from there.
Punters are Myles Ahead at Clonmel
It was an ordinary race for horses rated 0-116 over hurdles, he was the highest rated horse in the field at 115. He had a run around Punchestown against horses that were going too quick for him. We had a few quid each-way on him and if he wasn't capable of being in the first three you would be in trouble. He jumped alright and he won. These type of races give you a chance and they stop people from cheating, and you can write that down!
Pointer Pops does well under rules
She is tough as nails. We ran her on Monday in a point-to-point and she won. This race was open so we said we'd try and take it when she is fit and healthy, strike when the iron was hot. She would have been out of her comfort zone a small bit with the ease in the ground, they done a good job watering it. Hopefully she might pick up another one or two. I'll see what the handicapper does now but she might go for mares chase races. She has black type in a bumper but if I could get another bit of black type into her it would be great for breeding.
Khalessi takes the bumper for Nagle/O'Neill
The last day she ran in a bumper at Tramore they went no gallop and it turned into a sprint. I told Barry make sure it's not a sprint today. She is a well-bred filly, and is a full-sister to a couple of winners, Milan Bound and Acey, so it was important to get a bracket for her. She will go for a maiden hurdle now somewhere in a couple of weeks. She is owned by my wife Una.
