Elwood keeps the scoreboard ticking over for Elliott
They looked like they were going quick in front and we looked like we were going to finish a bad third or fourth, . It ended up suiting us as they all fell apart and we picked the pieces up although Eddie Harty's horse (Advantage Point) looked like he had the winning of it when he fell. He is more of a handicapper than a graded horse and is nothing like his brother (Delta Work, by Network).
Aidan Kelly rides first winner on Roche's mare
Aidan is well able to ride and is with me from the start, . He came from RACE and went to dad (Christy) for two years and stayed with me and is a great worker. We only kept the mare to give Aidan a few rides and when you are trying to get going yourself it is hard to get the young lads going as well. Today was due to be her last run as she will be covered but we may run her again now after that. You couldn't have a trip long enough for her and I'm more delighted for Aidan more than anyone. We might now see if there's another handicap chase for her soon.
Tronador off the mark over hurdles under Kevin Brogan
He was behind the bridle the whole way, and probably wants a bit further in time, . He was going as hard as he could three out and I'd be happy enough.
Thurles treble inches Elliott further in front
Royal Thief gains second Thurles success
Michael (O'Leary, of Gigginstown House Stud) suggested claiming and Hugh got a good tune out of him. He is tough and stays really well and Hugh was really good on him. His jumping is a bit hit and miss but he can be lazy and you have to be on top of him all the time. He is funny; we dropped him in the last day and Rachael (Blackmore) said he is slow and to ride him handier so it worked and he toughed it out.
Tenth winner of the season for Liz Doyle
I'm delighted she's had her day, . She's a small, cheap mare for a syndicate that just wanted a bit of fun. She saw it out well. She's slow and just about on the bridle the whole way, she wants three miles. Hopefully we can nick something similar again.
