Moidore (GB), trained by Charles & Adam Pogson, ran without its left-fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the gelding should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.

Inside the final furlong, Thor De Cerisy (FR), placed third, was forced to switch right-handed for clear running when both San Seb (GER), placed second, and the winner WHEN YOU’RE READY (IRE), shifted left-handed when clear of him on to the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of San Seb (GER) or WHEN YOU’RE READY (IRE).

Inside the final ½ furlong, San Seb (GER), placed second, hung left-handed before being corrected by its rider, carrying the winner WHEN YOU’RE READY (IRE), off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

The performance of Fanfaron Dino (FR), which started favourite and finished seventh, was considered.

It was noted that the representative of Anthony Honeyball could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Fanfaron Dino (FR), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Following the race, Philip Armson reported that Moidore (GB), placed sixth, hung left-handed.

David Bass reported that Chazza (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
