Permission was given for both Hurricane Alert (GB) and Mercers (GB) to go early to post and for Ascot Jungle (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings following an objection from Joshua Bryan, the rider of Perfect Symphony (IRE), placed second to the winner Wings Of A Dove (IRE), ridden by Harry Davies on the grounds of receiving interference from the winning horse shortly after the start of the race involving Real Estate (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Robert Havlin, Perfect Symphony (IRE), placed second, ridden by Joshua Bryan, Captain Ryan (GB), dead-heated for sixth, ridden by George Bass and the winner, Wings Of A Dove (IRE), ridden by Harry Davies.

As a 7lb claiming apprentice, Davies was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Wings Of A Dove (IRE)’s placing as the interference had taken place at a very early stage of the race, therefore the Stewards were unable to ascertain the impact that this had on the result and ordered that the placings remain unaltered.

Davies was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he manoeuvred his mount left-handed when insufficiently clear, causing interference to both Real Estate (IRE) and Perfect Symphony (IRE) on his inside.

A further enquiry was held to consider whether the objection lodged by trainer, Mark Pattinson and his jockey, Joshua Bryan, was frivolous.

Having heard evidence from Pattinson via telephone and physically from Bryan, the Stewards decided that the objection was not frivolous and so no further action was taken.

Following the race, Silvestre De Sousa reported that upon leaving the stalls his saddle slipped on Kodiak Attack (IRE), placed fourth.
