An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Merweb (IRE), ridden by Charles Bishop, and Uther Pendragon (IRE), placed second, ridden by Liam Keniry.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental and had not improved the placing of Merweb (IRE), in that the winner had shifted marginally right-handed despite the rider's best efforts, giving Uther Pendragon (IRE) only a slight nudge and causing it to lose no momentum, with the gelding appearing to make no ground on Merweb (IRE) on the run to the line.
Approximately one furlong out Urban Forest (GB), unplaced, shifted left-handed before being quickly corrected, causing the rider of Appreciate (IRE), unplaced, to have to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Sean Kirrane, the rider of Army Of One (GER), placed third, was suspended for 7 days for using his whip above the permitted level from approaching the final two furlongs.
Following the race, Darragh Keenan reported that Romeo's Bond (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run close to the winning line.
