Orr, placed third, where it appeared that Spanish Tenor drifted off the rails and into the path of Flight Risk who was delivering a challenge. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings' and took no further action. The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Larchmont Lad, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed first and Making Light, ridden by L.F. Roche, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Larchmont Lad had improved his placing over Making Light by intimidation and therefore reversed the placings with the revised result to read; First - Making Light, Second - Larchmont Lad. Furthermore the Stewards attributed no blame to D.P. McDonogh and took no further action. R.P. Cleary, rider of Flight Risk trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was hampered on leaving the starting stalls and at a later stage did not get a clear run in the straight.
