Ballymoy (IRE) wore ear plugs which were removed at the start.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Djingle (FR), ridden by Lorcan Williams and trained by Paul Nicholls, which raced very keenly at the back of the field before pulling its way to the front down the back straight and was pulled up approaching 2 hurdles out having appeared to not have been asked for an effort.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the race.
The rider stated that his instructions were to get Djingle (FR) to drop out and try to get the gelding switch off and run a good race.
He added that the gelding was running very freely throughout the race, which he reported to scales on his return.
He continued that once the rest of the field joined him going up the hill, he felt that Djingle (FR) was very tired and having squeezed him along with his legs, felt that the gelding had no more to give at which point Williams felt it prudent to pull up.
His explanation was noted and the Djingle (FR) was routine tested.
