Permission was given for Glacier Fox (GB) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
The winner, Onenightintown (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Cartmel on 16 July 2022, where the gelding finished fifth of nine, beaten 23¼ lengths.
Micky Hammond’s representative explained that Onenightintown (IRE) appreciated the strong gallop and the step up in trip to 2 miles 5 furlongs from 2 miles 1 furlong on this occasion.
The performance of Post No Bills (IRE), which finished eighth, was considered.
Ryan Potter could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Post No Bills (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
