An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Sir Maxi (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Tom Buckley and Falcon Brook (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Poppy Fielding.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Fielding was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Fielding was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she edged left towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Sir Maxi (GB) to be checked.
Approximately 2 furlongs out, the winner, The Kodi Kid (IRE), lugged left momentarily crowding a weakening Falcon Brook (GB), placed seventh, which then became unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of The Kodi Kid (IRE).
Following the race, Jonny Peate reported that Cuban Dancer (GB), placed sixth, was slowly away and Charlie O’Dwyer reported that State Patrol (IRE), placed third, was denied a clear run approaching the home bend.
