Permission was given for Love Dreams (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider 2 incidents of interference.
The first incident occurred approaching the final furlong when Bucephalus (GER), placed third, ridden by Sebastian Woods, interfered with Bonneval (GB), placed second, ridden by Adam Farragher.
Woods was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without timely correction carrying Farragher notably off his intended line.
The Stewards considered the placings after the second incident which occurred inside the final ½ furlong when Bonneval (GB) interfered with Bucephalus (GER).
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Bonneval (GB)’s placing as Bucephalus (GER) appeared to lose no momentum as result of the interference and Bonneval (GB) always appeared to be holding the gelding with ¾ length between them at the line.
Farragher was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed without sufficient correction carrying Woods slightly off his intended line.
The performance of Ffion (GB), which started favourite and finished placed eighth, was considered.
David Loughnane could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance.
Ffion (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Andrew Breslin reported that Kaeso (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed and lost its action and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Thomas Greatrex reported that Love Dreams (IRE), placed sixth, reared as the stalls opened.
George Rooke reported that Sir Plato (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and never travelling.
