he’s a grand old horse and when he gets to the front I think it makes a difference. He got challenged here the last day and headed and he didn’t enjoy it. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr.P.W.Murtagh, that C.R. King, rider of Sandstorm, presented himself to be weighed out at three pounds overweight, two of which had been declared. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 198 and fined him ?150 but allowed the overweight to be carried. The Stewards interviewed R. Aguiar, rider of Tetraites, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e) and 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive force and in an area short of the hind quarters and having considered his clean record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.
