Quotes on Feud (GB)

I was saying to Danny afterwards that it's quite intriguing going forward as to what way he can go because that was quite impressive. The nerves beforehand, it wouldn't matter if it was a bumper in Ballinrobe I'd be under pressure. The last 48 hours have been hell but we're here and we're through it. I loved the way he did it and I loved the way he jumped. He was a bit fumbly and made a few mistakes in Listowel. I thought that might be still in him a bit but he was very clever. He jumped some of them beautifully and the ones he didn't he just kicked them out of the way and never missed a beat. He's a very interesting horse going forward. I'm delighted for the lads, it's important to emphasise the importance of them to me. I've never got a chance to buy a horse like this. We'll explore his ceiling over hurdles and if it's a case that he comes back to being a lovely dual-purpose horse we'll see. I'm not thinking about that, we'll go home and make a plan. Beforehand I said we're either going to Listowel for the Lartigue or else the Royal Bond. The dream has come true, for now.

Quotes on Chart Topper (FR)

Keith (Donoghue, on In The Trenches) set a good gallop putting his experience to use but that suited me. He came out of my hands at the first but after that popped away lovely. He's more inclined to pop than have a crack at them. I could see Keith's horse jumping and hanging a bit left all the way and once he has hung off the home bend, has given us a great split. I think he has plenty of scope to chase; those Walk In The Park's are very natural jumpers and Pink In The Park (Chart Topper's dam) won her beginners' chase so he'll jump a fence no problem. He is very clever rather than brave but there's nothing wrong with that. His work at home was very good and we were hugely disappointed until now; we thought he would be winning at the Punchestown Festival but maybe jumping has improved him. I'd like to see him go up in trip and think he would probably be fairly versatile regarding ground, although I'm not sure he is a real middle of winter horse.

Quotes on Sunchart (GB)

I thought he would win everyday he ran over hurdles. Even that win today is still disappointing for him. There is a group race at Naas on the Flat and that's the plan for him now. He needs soft ground on the level. We are just running him rather than having him doing nothing at home. There is no big plans for him over hurdles. I'm not saying he won't run again over hurdles before Naas but there is no big plan. He is obviously not as good over hurdles. When we started him over hurdles we were thinking bigger than this. When he got beaten at Thurles we gave up on hurdles for a while. He runs terrible at the Curragh, he is bet before he comes out of the stalls. The handicapper is surely not going to mark him high because he isn't running to a high mark. Unless he improves there is no big future for him over hurdles.

Trainer Quotes

Quotes on Littlebiggie (IRE)

She was running well last winter but if she had been younger, I wouldn't have run her during the winter but it was just to get the experience into her. She had been buzzy and I won't say she was a handful but was just that little bit babyish. That ground, jumping out smartly like that and the trip were important to her. She doesn't quicken but has a good high tempo and is a nice one to have for the summer. You'd like to think she'll be a better mare over fences too as she jumps great. Liam (Quinlan) is in with me, so knows her and knows how to ride her, and Martin (Hogan, owner) is from right across the road.
