FormscanBy Tom Weekes - JUMP ALLEN showed only mild promise in last month’s hurdling debut but stepping up in distance and dropping to this lesser maiden will help. The selection defeated a subsequent dual hurdle-winner to score on bumper debut last May and while he was very one-paced on his Clonmel hurdling debut, that was a better race and today’s extra yardage should suit. The Story So Far ran two consistent races last month and his form since winning a Limerick Christmas bumper in 2023 is largely unexciting, he stays well and likes soft ground so should give the selection a race. Work Place caught the Galway stewards’ attentions in October but was tailed off over Christmas.

The owners are local to me in Ballingarry so it is great for them,. The horse hit a flat spot turning in and that happened to him in Navan too before staying on. He is an out-and-out three-miler so it was a bonus to win a bumper. He is a very nice horse, we bought him as a foal and he'll probably go jumping a hurdle now.
