FormscanBy Alan Magee - A disappointing turnout for this Grade 2 with all three runners representing the same connections and riding arrangements suggest STELLAR STORY is preferred. The point-to-point winner developed into a smart staying novice hurdler last season notably landing the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Search For Glory has a similar profile to the selection having also scored between the flags and in a bumper and stayed well over hurdles last term winning a 3m Clonmel Grade 3. He finished strongly to make a winning start over fences at Galway last month while Rainbow Trail also scored over 2m4f at Gowran last month but has since fallen here in a Grade 3.

He is only just ready to start off and hadn't done a piece of work but I thought I'd let him tip around here. Obviously the race cut up but there is loads of improvement in him. He is a not a big massive horse and will be more of a handicapper than a graded horse.

To be honest we thought he was overpriced, we knew he’d love the ground and he’s as tough as old nails. He stayed very well and Sam was good and positive. We were probably a little bit fortunate that the second horse missed the last as we’ve collared him on the line, but it was brilliant. I knew he was getting there, I just didn’t think he was getting there in time. To tell you the honest truth, I wasn’t going to run him. I was going to run Croke Park in the race and he was lame on Wednesday morning, so I brought this horse over late. I was going to send him to Aintree for a three-mile hurdle, so it shows what I know. He was bought to be a big chaser, that’s what he is. He’s a lovely horse. Sam is a big part of the team and I’m delighted for him.
