The Walk In The Park mare was making just her second outing over fences then and may be better suited by the larger obstacles. That form looks solid with the second and third placed again since. Jack Holiday was all out to make use of a lower hurdles mark at Limerick 10 days ago. He's probably a better horse over a fence but could be on a high enough rating. Sea Road Fill ran a solid race in his first handicap over fences at Naas and could be placed material again.

He is a mighty horse and has won three this year. He tries really hard, is very honest and is a real character. I'm delighted for the McCarthys (owners) as they are from up the road so to have a winner in Limerick is magic. Tom hadn't ever ridden for me before but I had been watching him and all those that are riding today are great riders but don't get much of a chance. He has been banging in the winners and to have the 7lb claim is mighty.

The leader ran the other day against a horse of ours in Down Royal so we felt we would sit in behind him and see how we go. It was a king of a raggedy start I thought and anyway it worked out for us in the end. I suppose the other horse tired. He did (relish the better ground) and Barry gave him a very timed ride. He looked to have a lot to do but I thought the leader was going very quick after running during the week. He felt he would reel him in but you have to go and do it. He will probably head to Punchestown (for the final). I think he is improving a bit and the ground helped him. He has a real good page this lad. He was a little bit hard to handle early on and if you saw him three months ago, you'd say there was no handling him. He's come a long way

I fancied Ferdia a bit more but this is a smashing horse. I'd say he struggled throughout the race because his main aim is Listowel and this race should put him right. I'm not sure yet what race he'll go for next week. He'll definitely have taken a blow there. I worked him with The Dara Man (pulled up injured earlier on the card) and The Dara Man worked a lot better than him but he obviously improved from the work. A horse like him that won two bumpers, when he jumped the last upsides he was always going to quicken past those. He has a bit of class. Kevin gave him a peach of a ride and that's three rides, three winners he's had for me now in the last week.

The horse deserved it and the owner deserves it as well. Last year he ran well in a hurdle or two and picked up a little injury. It was slow coming back and he's been placed a good few times without winning. It was lovely to have James on him as well as he was out with injury and it's his first winner for me since he came back, he has had one or two other winners. Michael Cawe had a horse with me seven or eight years ago called Imperial Joey, that won a race for me, and I hadn't had a horse for him since until I got this lad so it's lovely to have another winner for him. Michael is from Ballinrobe so we'll see if there is a hurdle up there for him a little bit later in the year. It would be nice to get him close to home for him.

He travelled very well throughout the race and at the top of the hill I thought he was still going to win. Then your man (Ocodango Boy) passed him, but he galloped to the line afterwards. We were lucky, maybe, but you never know what might have happened from the back of the last because he did gallop to the line. He deserved that, he has been running well without getting over the line. He has been placed a few times. We never actually thought he would go on real good ground. He has won on bottomless ground twice, but we ran him in Limerick on good ground and he finished third and actually ran real well. Adam (Ryan), who is leading him up there today, rode him and said he loved the ground. It is after working out well. We will give him a little break now as he's had a few races fairly quickly - Tramore or if there is a race back here. It was a long drive up but shorter going back!

It was a great day and I'm delighted for Peter, who gave her a great ride and is with me full-time. He works very hard and is a very good rider who is only getting going. She had been frustrating as we thought she'd have won something by now but, for only her second chase run, she seems to love jumping. he has been a good, fun horse and has won five races for us now. He is owned by the Kings Horses Syndicate - I was in school in Kings Hospital in Dublin and a bunch of friends from there own him. I gave him to them a few years ago and he has been great and has near enough paid his way. hopefully we'll get another day out of him but ultimately is for sale and is one that will be going to England this year. There is a ladies' race in Cartmel in a few weeks time and we might go over there with him - a few of the lads from the syndicate are living in England now. He would be a super horse for England on good ground — he'd nearly be a 'Saturday horse' in handicap chases over there.

He's done it really well, he's a miller to jump and two miles is his trip and he likes to bowl along in a nice rhythm. John Staunton does an awful lot of work with him and he did a little bit of fast work with him yesterday and he said .we're in business..
