Fresh from saddling Simenon to victory at Royal Ascot on Tuesday, Willie Mullins was on the mark again with Primroseandblue at Wexford.
After racing a shade keenly through the early stages of the Wellingtonbridge Novice Hurdle, Patrick Mullins managed to get his mount settled in behind Audrelles Lad who made the running.
One by one they came under the pump in behind and even-money favourite Primroseandblue was not for catching after taking it up coming to the last.
Audrelles Lad stuck on well to his credit to fill the runner-up spot, but there was two and three-quarter-lengths between the first two at the line.< Defence Of Duress heavy last-flight fall handed the Ladies Free On Littlewood Ladies Day July 28th Maiden Hurdle to his market rival Sonapour (11-4).
The pair looked like battling it out together but Andrew Lynch's charge was left clear as the favourite crashed out and he only had to be kept up to his work by Robbie Colgan to score by four and a half lengths from Why But Why
The well-backed Red Calima made a decisive move down the back straight which ultimately saw him land the Mount Leinster Maiden Hurdle in good style.
Paul Nolan's 2-1 favourite took it up from Super Sonic Boom a long way from home and Robbie Power was keen to turn the screw on the four-year-old.
He had them all in trouble rounding the turn and went on to beat Daisyanabelle by a yawning seven and a half lengths.
The Curracloe Handicap Hurdle went to Blaze Of Fire (3-1 second-favourite), ridden by Paul Carberry.
The six-year-old fought his way between Our Girl Lucy and Marshim approaching the last and he found plenty for pressure to see off the latter. Misty Weather (10-1), ridden by Ian Power, held the late challenge of Fairwood Massini to get off the mark over obstacles in the Vinegar Hill Maiden.
