Tuscan Light beat Madam Mo at Wexford

Dermot Weld boosted his already tidy strike-rate at Wexford when Tuscan Light opened her account at the second time of asking.
The daughter of Medicean managed only third first time out at Dundalk last month but she showed the benefit of that initial outing with an accomplished performance.
Settled in midfield through the early exchanges, Pat Smullen started making his move on the 11-4 chance around three furlongs out and, after hitting the front soon after the two-pole, he burst clear to beat pacesetter Madam Mo by two and a half lengths.
Weld and Smullen had to settle for second as Tommy Stack's well-backed Tooreen Legend (11-4) edged out Nabat Ali in the Sharon Boland Last Days Of Freedom Rated Race.
The principal pair, who were initially held up, shot past their two rivals a furlong and a half from the finish and scrapped it out to the line.
There was only half a length between them as they flashed past the post but it was Billy Lee 's mount who held sway.< Longshadow defied top weight to break his duck in the Black Point Handicap.
Always handy, Declan McDonogh stole a march turning in and his mount kept responding to pull three and a half lengths clear of Longdock
Charlie Elliott produced Takeyourcapoff (9-4 joint-favourite) with a well-judged run to claim the Campile Apprentice Handicap by a length and a quarter from Passion Planet
The Felim O'Rourke Is Finally Getting Married Handicap went to Martin Brassil's Celestial Prospect who justified 3-1 favouritism under Fran Berry, while the Roger Quinlan-ridden Annie Other won the Owenavarragh (QR) Maiden.< Ratheniska (5-1) won the Borro Mares INH Flat Race for Nina Carberry and Tom Taaffe and Weld went on to complete a double with Wandering Star (100-30), ridden by Jane Mangan, in the second instalment of the Borro Mares INH Flat Race.
