Shark Hanlon 's thriving Ardglen attempted to make all but recent exertions caught up with him and the winner, who had been held up last early on, went on to score by 12 lengths.

Easily Pleased was spring-heeled at the fourth-last, soon putting daylight between himself and his rivals, but Walsh worked his mount into contention and went on to win by 15 lengths.

The Cecil Ross-trained Westmeath Bachelor (11-2) took advantage of a mistake two-out by Second Glance in the Cleveragh Road Handicap Chase, while Leggy Lad (12-1) landed a gamble in the Sligo I.T. Student Day At Sligo Races Beginners Chase for the McConville family.
