< Kilford led his rivals a merry dance in the Newgrange Veterans Handicap Chase at Navan.
The 7-2 favourite bowled along at the head of affairs in the hands of Luke Dempsey, although plenty of challengers were queueing up behind him as they left the back straight.
Leonard Whitmore's 10-year-old hadn't been asked for maximum effort, though, and he bounded clear over the last two obstacles and passed the post with 27 lengths in hand of Embracing Change < General Principle returned from almost a year on the sidelines with an impressive triumph in the Nobber Maiden Hurdle.
Previously seen finishing 11th in the Champion Bumper, Gordon Elliott's smart prospect cruised up to challenge Tayto Park and although that rival stayed with the 2-5 favourite until they had jumped the last, a shake of the reins from Bryan Cooper saw General Principle shoot three lengths clear.
The Jack Kennedy-ridden Jury Duty (8-1) gave Elliott a double in the Garlow Cross Handicap Hurdle.
For an 11-year-old, Rolly Baby has hardly any miles on the clock but showed that there is plenty of talent there in the Follow Navan On Facebook Beginners Chase.
The 7-4 joint-favourite cruised through the contest under Ruby Walsh and although main market rival Goulane Chosen looked a serious threat at the last, Willie Mullins' veteran pulled out more on the run-in to triumph by four lengths.< All Souls (8-1) made a successful start to his jumping career in the Racing 13th March Maiden Hurdle.
Recruited from the Flat in France, the well-related son of Cape Cross hit the front approaching the final flight but had to be kept up to his work by Andrew Lynch to keep the rallying Calin Des Ongrais three and a half lengths at bay.
Evergreen teenager Chestnut Charlie (16-1) taught his younger opponents a lesson in the Charlie Lowry Memorial Handicap Chase, storming clear for a seven-length verdict, while Nina Carberry drove newcomer Gettysburg Address (8-1) out to land the Athboy (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
