Review naas 16th Oct
Sir Michael Stoute made a successful raid on Naas from his Newmarket base as Intimation ran out a most impressive winner of the Listed Clodovil European Breeders Fund Garnet Stakes.
Plenty had chances turning for home but none were moving as sweetly as Colin Keane's mount and although even-money favourite Rose De Pierre threw down a brief challenge, it was short-lived as the 3-1 winner went four lengths clear, going two places better than when third in a Group Three at Gowran Park last time out.
Keane then switched sides to foil Stoute in the Anjaal European Breeders Fund Bluebell Stakes, driving home the John Kiely-trained Toe The Line (9-2) to beat Shall We and Chris Hayes to take the Listed honours.
Keane had earlier struck with the Ger Lyons-trained Wayside Flower (3-1), who showed guts in abundance to see off a host of promising newcomers in the Coulsty European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden.< Trevanna (12-1) made it two wins from as many starts in the 100,000 euro Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Auction Race.
The Kevin Prendergast-trained juvenile had made a winning debut at Down Royal last month and stayed on strongly for Chris Hayes to deny Cloistered by a neck, having had to be dismounted at the start.
Willie McCreery's Childhood (10-1) wore down Spy Ring to claim a good prize in the At The Races European Breeders Fund Birdcatcher Premier Nursery Handicap, while his rider Wayne Lordan doubled up aboard Snoozing Indian (10-1) for Thomond O'Mara in the Hospitality At Naas Handicap.
Aidan O'Brien's Spirit Of Valor was well backed to make a winning debut a week ago at the Curragh and made no mistake at the second time of asking as the 8-13 favourite in the Tifrums European Breeders Fund (C & G) Maiden.
Hayes bagged his own double as the Willie Mullins-trained Renneti (7-1) took the concluding Profile Systems Naas October Handicap.
