< Barack got the better of a thrilling tussle with Duff to land the feature race at Leopardstown, the Listed Glencairn Stakes.

Duff looked to have made a decisive move when sweeping into a marginal lead a furlong from home, but he could not shake off the attentions of Barack.

Ben Curtis drove the 12-1 chance upsides close home and after a titanic struggle, he emerged victorious by a short head, with favourite Wild Wind third.

John Oxx unleashed a promising newcomer when Rubina took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden, initiating a double for himself and jockey Johnny Murtagh.

Aidan O'Brien's 2-9 favourite Foot Soldier appeared to get first run on the 6-1 chance, but when Johnny Murtagh popped the question, the Invincible Spirit filly responded very nicely to score by a length and three quarters.

Oxx and Murtagh were responsible for the even-money favourite Narjawa in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, but were forced to settle for second behind One Spirit

Murtagh set his stall out early and had all bar the winner beaten from a long way out, but Niall McCullagh's mount found plenty for pressure to run out a two-length scorer.

Murtagh and Oxx didn't have to wait too long for their double, though, as the Sheikh Mohammed-owned Creekside landed the spoils in the Growise Handicap.< Estithmaar was the well-fancied 4-6 favourite for the contest, but the Sheikh Hamdan-owned colt had no answer to Creekside (5-2), who scorched home to score by two and a half lengths.

Sam James was a cool customer on board Strandfield Lady (7-1) in the Bulmers Live Handicap, producing the filly in the final furlong to beat another vanquished short-priced favourite in Casbah Rock

Murtagh tried to fend off all challengers on the market leader, but was powerless to resist Strandfield Lady's late surge.
