< Magen's Star lived up to her name as she outclassed her rivals in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Fillies Handicap at Killarney.

Sent immediately to the front by Billy Lee, the Tommy Stack-trained four-year-old was seeking a hat-trick and obliged with the minimum of fuss.

Dropping back to a mile and three furlongs, Lee gradually wound it up on the 6-4 favourite and was able to ease the daughter of Galileo close home for a very comfortable four-length victory over Gladiole

Stack said: "She is an improving filly and may now step up to stakes company. Her narrow win at Listowel was gained over a trip (mile and three-quarters) which may have been a little too far for her."

Favourite-backers had Ruby Walsh to thank as he conjured a tremendous late rattle from 11-2 market leader Norwich Boy after the last to collar Tahitien Fix on the run-in and land the Corcoran's Furniture & Carpets Beginners Chase.

The race was a dramatic one, with a number of fallers and the winner being badly hampered by the fall of Unforgettable at the third-last before Walsh worked his now customary magic on Willie Mullins' charge, although the runner-up was a trifle unlucky having made a real mess of four out.

Walsh and Mullins doubled up as Themoonandsixpence ran out a clear-cut winner of the Ashes Bar Glenbeigh Handicap, taking it up four from home and galloping on strongly to reward those who sent him off the 11-4 favourite.

Walsh said: "Themoonandsixpence is a fair winter type and was racing against summer horses and was entitled to win. He stays and jumps and may win another handicap."

The well-bred Moon Indigo ran out a cosy winner of the Mike Cronin Readymix Ltd Thermohouse Maiden for Johnny Murtagh and Aidan O'Brien, getting the better of a tussle with 2-1 market leader Anak inside the final furlong.

A half-brother to last year's Irish Oaks winner Moonstone, the 5-2 second-favourite was getting off the mark at the third time of asking.
