< Duckweed showed she is going the right way as she stepped up on previous efforts to take the At The Races Novice Hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Winner of a point-to-point and a close third when moved up to three miles in a maiden hurdle last time, the Jessie Harrington-trained mare (11-4) was settled in third by Robbie Power and eased into the lead going strongly on the run to the second-last flight.
She was never threatened thereafter and finished two and a half lengths clear, with Captain Von Trappe taking second spot late on without ever mounting a threat.< Off The Mark was sent off the 5-6 favourite for the Tullamore Maiden Hurdle on his return to action after a lay-off stretching back to a runner-up finish in a Listed bumper at Limerick in March 2014, and punters' confidence was not misplaced.
Christy Roche's gelding, running in the colours of JP McManus, always travelled well in third place and was sent up to lead at the final flight by Jody McGarvey before being pushed out to win comfortably by three and three-quarter lengths.
Four horses held every chance at the last in the Belvedere House, Gardens & Park Handicap Chase and Brian Hayes squeezed through a narrow gap on the inner to grab the verdict by a length and three-quarters on Shark Hanlon 's 7-2 favourite Abolitionist
Hayes also struck when the Michael Bowe-trained mare Aunt Alice (10-1) jumped the third-last in front along with favourite Burton Hall in the Kinnegad Maiden Hurdle before asserting to pass the post four lengths in front.
Dot Love's Lucky Pat (4-1 favourite) appreciated the drop into handicap company in the Like Kilbeggan Racecourse On Facebook Handicap Hurdle and won in style, leading going to the second-last under Davy Russell and finishing a length and a quarter clear.
Richard Cotter's Ronava (3-1) and the favourite Akorakor were always prominent in the Westmeath Beginners Chase and the former proved the stronger when they duelled over the final three fences, winning by three lengths under Johnny Burke.
