Noel Meade's Oscar Looby (6-1) won the Come On Ireland Novice Hurdle at Gowran under a canny ride from Emmett Mullins.
Second behind Kempes last time, he beat 7-4 favourite Smoking Aces by an easy four lengths.
"He did it well today, we probably waited with him a bit too long at Navan so I told Emmett to kick on with him today but he enjoyed the better ground also," said Meade.
"We will go for another novice hurdle with him at Fairyhouse or Punchestown and go chasing with him next season."
Dessie Hughes Lenabane looks a nice prospect and as a half-brother to Moscow Flyer should improve over fences next season after winning the Warrington Maiden Hurdle.
"He's a lovely horse, he's just so big and he's still learning," said Hughes.
"He's a half-brother to Moscow Flyer so he should jump a fence, we'll go chasing with him in the autumn and maybe try find a winners of one hurdle for him in the meantime."
Mouse Morris' Baily Light was a very impressive winner of the Spring Team Classic 2009 At Gowran Park Maiden Hurdle.
"We put cheekpieces on him today as he had his eye on the stable yard gate the last day at Clonmel, and they seemed to have done the trick," said Morris.
Arthur Moore's Stewarts House finally got off the mark over fences after a few consistent efforts in the Bagenalstown Beginners' Chase, with favourite Travino disappointing.
"He appreciated the better ground and he'll probably go for a novice handicap chase at Fairyhouse or Punchestown," said Moore
Barry O'Connell and Philip Fenton teamed up to win the bumper with Kilflora (7-4 favourite), just as they had done at the Cheltenham Festival with Dunguib.< Enter The Indian (7-1) won the Evening Racing At Gowran Park Handicap Hurdle for Aidan Howard and Robbie Dunne.
Howard said: "That was his first time over the trip and he handled it well. The ground wouldn't be ideal he'd prefer it a bit softer but he galloped all the way to the line and I'm delighted."
