< Fosters Cross ran out a gutsy winner of the Guinness Handicap Chase at Galway.
Always in the front rank under Bryan Cooper, the Tom Mullins-trained 11-4 favourite took the lead entering the back straight and had a handy lead before a sticky jump at the second last.
That allowed Darenjan to sneak up the inside and take the advantage, but Fosters Cross battled back, eventually comoing away to win by four and three-quarter lengths.< Muirhead got up in the shadow of the post to land the Ryans Cleaning Chase.
The 4-7 favourite had to pull out all the stops to reel in the front-running Sin Palo edging the verdict by a head.
That gave Carberry a double after Noel Meade's Silverhand notched his first win since 2010 when taking the City Publicans Charity Hurdle.< Tornedo Shay had got the better of a long-running battle with fellow pacesetter Twinlight at the last, but Carberry ranged up on the outside on the 9-4 winner, sweeping past to win by a length.< Flying Light justified 1-2 favouritism when coming home a comfortable winner of the Mervue Maiden Hurdle under Andrew McNamara, beating Popmurphy by two and a half lengths.< Anshan Dreams ran out a really brave winner of the Galway City Publicans Handicap Hurdle.
Adrian Maguire's 12-1 chance was in front from a long way out and appeared to have plenty of pretenders to his throne on the home turn, but he found plenty for Declan Queally's pressure and went on to beat Churchfield Champ by two and a quarter lengths.< Weslife created a huge upset in the Eventus Beginners Chase for trainer Iggy Madden.
Sent off a 50-1 chance, he was held up early under David Splaine, but worked his way through the pack nicely, eventually coming hom three and three-quarter lengths ahead of Protaras with odds on favourite Carlingford Lough only third.
