Wolfofallstreets stuck on well in the closing stages to claim the Join Naas Business Club Handicap Hurdle this afternoon.
Philip Rothwell 's charge had attracted some support for the contest, run over just shy of two miles, having been backed from as big as 20/1 this morning into 12/1.
Adam Short tracked the leaders on the Kalanisi gelding before letting him jump into the lead over the second last flight.
The six-year-old responded well when tackled by Youngnedofthehill at the final flight and went on to record a two-length win.
Rothwell said:- “We’ve had a lot of seconds since Christmas. The horses are flying but they were just hitting the crossbar.
“This horse had a nice light weight and he stayed at it well. I thought he got too big a penalty for winning the type of race he did in Thurles.
“I was delighted with his run in Fairyhouse the last day and I thought the only way we were going to get another day was a light weight and go a good gallop.”
