A lengthy fruitless spell was brought to an end for the Pat Flynn stable when Whatharm (13/2) triumphed in the Follow Us On Twitter @DundalkStadium Handicap.
This Canford Cliffs gelding must have pride of place with the Waterford handler, seeing as he provided the last winner the stable had as well, at this venue last December.
As the man with the Mayo family connections, Joe Biden, edges towards the White House, there was further joy for the green and red here with Westport native Conor Hoban guiding Whatharm home by three parts of a length and half a length from Fridtjof Nansen and Never Back Down
Former jockey Danny Grant, representing Flynn, said: “He was off for a long time. He’s a big horse and we gave him a break. We brought him back in the Curragh and he ran well there.
“He likes it here and seems to be improving all the time. He’s very laidback and likes to chase horses. If he’s in front he thinks he’s enough done.
“Pat has about 30 horses in for the winter. We have a few dual-purpose horses and a couple of nice bumper horses as well.”
