The ground has eased ahead of this afternoon’s National Hunt meeting at Wexford following 10mm of rain overnight. The going is currently described as yielding at the south-eastern venue and the forecast is for a mild and dry day.
The first on a seven-race card gets underway at 2pm, and conditions restrict the riders in all races to be either claimers or have not ridden 15 winners last season.
The focus switches to the Flat at Cork this evening where a seven-race card features the Group 3 Munster Oaks Stakes.
A field of nine go to post in the absence of Startedwithakiss (in season), and Newtown Anner Stud Farm are well represented with three runners including likely favourite Thunder Kiss
The Ger Lyons-trained filly has already won over course and distance this term in the Listed Noblesse Stakes and was placed last time in the Group 2 Middleton Fillies’ Stakes at York.
The action at the Mallow track commences at 5.05pm and the going remains good after just 1mm of rain in the past 24 hours.
