Acid got off the mark on her ninth career start as she got up close home to win the Pyramid Bookmakers Fillies Handicap.
Placed on her first three starts this season the Kevin Prendergast trained bay disappointed over the course and distance in May before again running below par at Galway earlier in the month.
Available at 9/1 last night the daughter of Clodovil was well-supported, opening on-course at 13/2 before going off an 11/2 chance.
Settled in mid-division by Chris Hayes she was pushed along in fifth approaching the straight. She came with her challenge on the outer from two furlongs out and was soon ridden.
She gained a marginal lead a furlong out and kept on well under pressure from there, going on to win by three parts of a length. Cocoon (9/2 joint-favourite) finished second under Ana O'Brien for her father Aidan while Hilary (8/1) was a short head back in third under Daniel Redmond for Gerard Stack. Liffey View was the other joint-favourite and while she lead entering the straight she faded from the furlong pole and finished fifth under Declan McDonogh for Adrian McGuinness.
Kevin Prendergast said afterwards: "The deeper the ground the better she'll be. She may win another one.
"She was bought for breeding. She was only beaten five lengths behind Curvy so was entitled to win a small race.
"We'll keep her moving and if we get soft ground we'll run again."
