Trainer Mick Mulvany's horses filled three runner-up positions in last weekend's season-opening fixtures and today won with one of those runners Seeingisbelieving in Navan's opening Return Of The Flat At Navan Handicap.
Runner-up at the Curragh on Saturday, Seeingisbelieving today raced with the pace under Gary Carroll and quickened to lead in the final furlong, beating Tawaazon by three parts of a length.
Mulvany reported “we were expecting a good run from him as he ran well the other day. He had a few little problems last year and we think we have them solved. He had a problem with his knees and that ground is helping him.
“Hopefully we can keep him right and he seems to be back to himself. We were almost forced to come here after getting 4lb for the other day and we'll see what the handicapper does now.
“The horses are running well, we have a lot of grass work done with our horses. We have a field that is every bit as good a gallop as that (racecourse) out there.”
