Sean Flanagan registered his third winner for trainer Gavin Cromwell at Listowel today as he steered Wadiyatink Now to win the closing division of the Racing Behind Closed Doors Handicap Hurdle.

Wadiyatink Now was today debuting for Cromwell on her first run since April 2019 and in the end scored a three and three parts of a length win over Crack On Corrie

Flanagan, having just his sixth ride for Cromwell, later stated “I ride out in Gavin's every now and then and obviously Johnny (Moore, injured stable jockey) is out; it comes in swings and roundabouts I suppose, as Johnny won the Kerry National on Snow Falcon for Noel Meade two years ago when I was out.”

He added “I had never sat on her (Wadiyatink Now) but had spoken to Gavin (Cromwell) before racing and he said to drop in. He was trying to get a handle on her today more than anything else as her runs had been a little bit disappointing.

“She was fresh and well and she came home really well. To be fair I had a dream run all the way down the inner and I probably saved eight or ten lengths and it was a big help.”
