Vormir lived up to his billing as the 7/4 favourite for the opening Welcome Naas Mens Shed Claiming Race on two-year-old day at the County Kildare venue.
Colin Keane chased the leader and was prominent on the Elzaam gelding.
The Declan Landy owned 73-rated performer led two furlongs out, and he was ridden and pressed a furlong and a half out.
Vormir then kept on well to assert inside the final furlong, beating Be Like The Bird by a length and three parts.
The winner was reversing Tipperary form with Be Like The Bird and successful handler Ger Lyons said: "Mathematics is what got it today with the Oxx horse from Tipperary. We dropped him back as he was always doing too much. There is not much of him.
“He’s after winning a Plus 10 bonus and he only cost 12, and he’s won another 6 there so the owner is happy.
“He’s in again in another claimer at Fairyhouse on Monday and, if he’s not claimed, he’ll turn up there.”
