After winning the first two, Andrew Lynch completed his treble in the penultimate contest at Clonmel, taking the Skoda Ireland ‘Ryan Motor Power’ Handicap Chase aboard the Mick Manning trained Breffni Gael (4/1).
The seven-year-old daughter of Milan recorded her first racecourse success at Tramore earlier in the month and she followed up today, keeping on best away from the last to score in comfortable fashion. Code Dancer who finished second to her at Tramore, had to play second fiddle yet again, three and a quarter lengths back at 8/1 under Robbie Moran for Patrick Carey. Finea was a further ten lengths back in third under Mark Enright for Fran Flood at 16/1, while the 7/4 favourite Easy Vic finished a very disappointing eighth, under Davy Russell for Tony Martin. Sea Master (8/1) fell at the second last when still in with his chance under Paddy Mangan for Iggy Madden.
Mick Manning said afterwards: "I couldn’t believe she handled the softish ground so well (won on good to firm at Tramore).
"She won easier today than the last day and we might try find something in Galway for her now."
