"That was a nice surprise as she had been disappointing last season after winning her point to point," acknowledged trainer Robert Tyner after Travel Ogue s 20/1 win in the Tipperary Student Day Handicap Hurdle.
Travel Ogue got a patient steer from Phillip Enright and she came through to lead from the third last. On her first start since March, the five-year-old kept on well from before the last to see off the favourite, Pilgrim Way by three lengths.
"Getting the three miles was a worry as she is by a five furlongs horse (Redback). My horses are running better now though, and have all been running well in the last fortnight," added Tyner.
Travel Ogue is owned by Deborah McDonald, from Kildorrery, and was an opening winner, from her first horse.
