"I haven't even had a double before this evening so it's nice to get the three," said Tom Madden after completing a 389/1 hat-trick aboard Jessica Harrington's Echo Park in the concluding Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Handicap at Dundalk.
Clear pace-setter Commander Won made a valiant bid to hang on in this mile and a half heat, but Madden got the Anamoine Limited owned Echo Park to the front a furlong out and she obliged by three parts of a length.
"I'm not too far behind the boys now (in the apprentice race) so it's worth a go and these three winners tonight puts me back into it," elaborated Madden.
"There are a few meetings left so hopefully I can keep the ball rolling. I just need a bit of luck.
"Thanks to Jessie and Anamoine for giving me this ride. She's very straight-forward, very genuine and she did it well."
Madden earlier started as he was set to continue, excelling on Marjorie Fife's Red Charmer (4/1 favourite) in the opening Irishinjuredjockeys.com Apprentice Claiming Race.
Conor O'Dwyer 's Pulsating (12/1) providing him with winner number two, in division one of the 45 to 65 handicap.
That stable debutant got the better of Guanabara Bay by half a length.
