Thirteenth time lucky for gambled on Bound
Heavenly Bound in the hands of Shane Butler showed that his recent good effort, when second to Highdownhill at Sligo, was no flash in the pan, as he ran out an easy winner of Division Two of the jogforjockeys.ie Handicap Hurdle
The winning son of Blue Ocean raced in mid-division off a strong pace set by the front running Sailon Silvergirl He then closed, when she pecked and unseated four out. He disputed the lead from three out and soon led.
At two out he was clear and despite a mistake at the last, he stayed on well to win easily by five and a half lengths. Winterdown Star ran his best race for a while to take second at 14/1, while the easy to back 10/3 favourite Asymmetrical for Tony Martin and Ruby Walsh was a further one and three parts of a length back in third.
Recording his first win on his thirteenth start, the 9yo was strongly supported on track being backed from 6/1 into 7/2 clear second favourite.
Winning owner and trainer Seamus Fahey said afterwards: "It was a funny, moderate sort of race. We were thinking earlier on that it was a pity we weren't in the other division, but it worked out well in the end.
"We will try and find something similar for him now. He is a horse that minds himself."
