Tellthemnuttin continued her Wexford love affair, as she made it four from four at Bettyville in the Jennifer & Gillian Kerins Supporting Wexford Camogie Handicap Hurdle.
Successful over the course and distance just last month, the six-year-old daughter of Shantou since ran well to finish seventh of twenty-five at the Punchestown Festival.
Available at 11/4 this morning she opened on-course at just 2’s, before going off the clear 15/8 favourite under Dylan Robinson.
Settled in mid-division she made her move around the outer as they approached the straight for the final time.
She was pushed along to lead from the second last, and kept on well from there, going on to score by four lengths. High Nellie (12/1) kept on to take second under Cathal Landers for Michael Bowe, while Mister First (12/1) was another length back in third for Danny Hand and Robbie Hennessy.
The fourteen-year-old Your Busy was pulled up injured after the last, and has been retired.
Willie Codd said afterwards: "I don’t how to describe it. She is four from four here. She just seems to turn in to that second last and just relishes going up in front of the stands. She knows this place pretty well now and loves coming here.
"She ran a belter at Punchestown. We got left at the start, there was a couple of false starts, and she was second last when they jumped off. To get into contention turning in and finish as close as she did we were delighted. She just didn’t have the run of the race.
"I just wasn’t sure coming back here so quick. She was as fresh as paint Tuesday morning and I just said we'd stick her in. She has just been fabulous for us, and the syndicate are getting so much enjoyment.
"She is just tough as boots and loves racing. The step up in trip this year has definitely helped. We contemplated going chasing but I don’t know, we’ll see.
"There is a race I want to go back and try and win, and that’s the 2m 5f conditional riders race at Cheltenham in November. I was second in it a few years ago with a mare called Vale Of Avocia. It’s a race I think will suit her, the hill and everything. Maybe now with her rating she might just get in. I’ll keep that in the back of my mind.
"We'll tip away with her for the summer and we might get back to Galway again. The race didn’t go to plan last year at Galway. She is just a pleasure to train. It'll be hard to keep the record here. If a race comes up here we will definitely come back!"
